Welcome to another installment of My second pregnancy series!
This week Bronwen shares her 16th week of pregnancy with us.

Mood: bi polar for lack of a better description. Dead on my feet 1 min then cleaning like crazy the next. (Nesting is strong with this pregnancy)
Energy levels: Improving slightly
Cravings: None really, been drinking tonnes of water, fruit juice & wanting jelly sweets like jelly tots or soft fruit gums
Food / smell Aversions: Bacon
Missing: Being able to sleep without having to get up to pee 15 times a night
Looking forward to: Cody being completely potty trained by the end of this. Using my endless pee time at night to take him to the bathroom too
Stretch marks: Still none. Didn’t have with the 1st pregnancy either (bio oil is your friend)
Belly button: Popped? Nope
Baby size: Not sure will find out on the 22nd when i go back to fetal assessment for a check up with the cardiologist (newbie might have a hole in his heart according to indications at 12wk scan. Downs has been ruled out).
Gender prediction: Still assuming it’s a boy
16 weeks Pregnant:
Baby growth: At 16 weeks baby’s muscles are getting stronger. He has eyebrows and eyelashes. Baby can now move his eyes from side-to-side although the eye lids remain close. Baby is also now sensitive to touch and will wriggle if I poke my belly.
Baby size: At 16 weeks baby is the size of an avocado 13cm 85-142g
Thank you Bronwen for sharing your beautiful journey with us! We can’t wait to see next week’s update!
“My Pregnancy series” I will be interviewing different mums-to-be as we follow their personal journey though pregnancy and motherhood. This series is aimed at educating, encouraging, uplifting and empowering pregnant women. I loved reading real life stories while I was pregnant with my first child in 2014. I found it so empowering and informing. It made my crazy symptoms feel normal and I could relate to other women experiencing similar symptoms. The series will focus on first time and second time moms;how they found out they were expecting, different trimesters and symptoms with beautiful growing belly pictures. Lots of interviews, informative articles and advice from experts in the field.
